Collecting Early Texas Art

Collecting early Texas art is exciting and challenging. There are literally thousands of artists who have practiced in Texas and their work is owned by dozens of museums and hundreds of serious collectors. The only requirement to get started collecting is a desire and time with a small amount of money. In the past three years I have acquired early Texas art for amounts ranging from $45.00 to over $10,000.00 for an individual item. I had just as much fun finding and acquiring the $45.00 item as I did the over $10,000.00 item. And most visitors in our home don't know which is which. The most important secret in acquiring art is to possess more information than the person you are buying from possesses. On these pages I will share some of the lessons I have learned from the experts so you can be in that position. If you have questions don't hesitate to ask. I'll try to answer them.
